Research has shown that airports are good for economic development. They are obviously key for states relying on revenue from tourist activities. Commercial airline service is also crucial for an area looking to attract and retain talented employees.
Upton is a Northeastern Wyoming town that feels quite remote. Yet, the small town is fortunate to have four airports within an hour to 2.5-hour drive. Easy access to a number of different airports is a rare amenity in such a rural area. The Gillette-Campbell County Airport is less than an hour from Upton and is served by United Airlines, which offers a 45-minute flight to Denver!
