The United States Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration, is organizing a Sustainable Construction Trade Mission to Mexico that will introduce U.S. firms to Mexico’s Sustainable Building & Construction sector, and assist U.S. companies in pursuing export opportunities in the sector.
By focusing on infrastructure-related projects, this mission advances ITA’s work to increase U.S. company participation in infrastructure and strategically position our clients to tap medium and long-term opportunities.

Commercial Setting
- The 2014 National Infrastructure Program (NIP) plan focusing on developing major sectors spanning transportation, water, energy, health, urban development, communications, and tourism with an anticipated total investment of $586 billion through 2018.
- Over 700 public- and privately-funded infrastructure projects have been identified and include opportunities for foreign companies to participate through subcontracts and direct sales to the federal government will grow.
- Despite the substantial public funding for many projects, the Government of Mexico anticipates the majority of NIP projects to be implemented as Private-Public Partnerships varying from 15 to 30 years.
