New leader named for BH Energy’s electric operations

RAPID CITY — Electric provider Black Hills Energy named Nick Gardner to the position of vice president of the company’s operations in South Dakota, northeastern Wyoming, and southeastern Montana.

“Nick is excited to introduce himself to communities that Black Hills serves in the three-state region,” said Linn Evans, president and chief operating officer for Black Hills Corp. “Black Hills works hard every day to provide our customers with the safe, reliable and valued energy service they expect. Nick’s leadership and experience will help our Black Hills Energy team continue their commitment to our customers and to the future of the communities we serve.”

Gardner holds the top leadership position at the company’s electric utility level and is responsible for all aspects of managing the company’s South Dakota, northeast Wyoming, and southeastern Montana operations. Black Hills Energy serves 69,000 electric customers in 23 communities in the Black Hills region, including the South Dakota communities of Rapid City, Belle Fourche, Custer, Deadwood, Edgemont, Hill City, Hot Springs, Keystone, Lead, Newell, Spearfish, Sturgis, Summerset, and Whitewood, and the Wyoming communities of Newcastle and Upton.
