Virtual Town Hall highlights increased grant opportunities to help businesses upskill employees and hire apprentices

CHEYENNE - The Wyoming Department of Workforce Services (DWS) will be hosting a virtual town hall from 2-3 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, to provide more information about the increased funding limits for the DWS Workforce Development Training Fund grants and apprenticeship opportunities.

Funding limits for Business Training Grants have been increased from $1,000 to $4,000, per trainee, per State Fiscal Year (SFY). For businesses in a preferred industry, the limit increased from $1,500 to $5,000, per trainee, per SFY. The total amount of funding a business can apply for per SFY has increased from $50,000 to $200,000, regardless of the number of trainees. In addition, Emergency Medical Service Providers are now also eligible for these grants.
