Career Exploration Barbeque

Weston County School District #7, TeamMates Mentoring, Upton Chamber of Commerce, and Upton Economic Development Board hosted a Career Exploration Barbecue at Upton High School on November 21, 2019.   The event connects high school students and their parents/guardians with area employers to learn about skills and education requirements for the jobs they provide.  Also, in attendance were college representatives to share information about post-secondary programs and resources to support student career goals. 

Many prizes were handed out during the event from cash, headphones, gas cards, local hardware gift cards, apple and google gift cards.  Huge thank you to the businesses that chose to sponsor those prizes.  Those businesses are: Joes Food Center, Honnen Equipment of Gillette, Arrow Services, ADI Insurance, Sustainable Homes & Design.

Other Participating Businesses and Colleges were: Kimberly Anne Hair Design, FirsTier Bank, Ty Miller, Dan Hart Patrol, Weston County School District #7, University of Wyoming, Eastern Wyoming College, Gillette College.
